Research:
<1>Mechanistic Study of Organic Reactions and Organic Photoreactions
We study highly reactive intermediates involved in organic photoreactions
by direct observations. By the use of low-temperature matrix isolation
technique, we can observe UV-Vis and IR spectra of unstable intermediates,
and determine their structures.
<2>Study of Artifical Model for Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis of plants is a very complex and complete system. The reaction
includes a number of processes, such as light absorption, electron transfer,
carbon fixation, etc. Using vesicle system, we study photoinduced electron
transfer reactions to understand essential process of photosynthesis.
